BAPTISM

6th through 12th grade students who have committed their lives to Christ and wish to take the next step in their faith are able to be baptized by a TBC Student Pastor. There isn’t an official “baptism class” for students, but we do require that each student meet with a staff member ahead of time to discuss what baptism is all about.

For more information, including how to set up a baptism interview, contact Lauren Woodward at lwoodward@tabernaclebaptist.org or 770-382-1977.

Two reasons you should be baptized:

Obedience – In Matthew 28:19, Jesus instructed us to be baptized as an act of obedience. Jesus himself was baptized! We want to follow his example and honor his guidance. While baptism is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God.

Identification – Just as a name tag lets everyone know your name, baptism identifies you as a Christian. It’s a public way to celebrate that your sins have been cleansed and to announce you are in a relationship with Christ.
